Commitment and confidence are too of my biggest issues.

I go on about how much I yearn for the artist's life, but I've never made the kind of serious commitment that other, more successful people have.

I've never given up a job to pursue my dream, never slept in my car, or lived on canned soup until I hit it big.

I've always played it safe and while that approach may get you a steady paycheck, it can also push your dreams to the backseat.

Thanks for stopping by, Jay, and to take care!Rob Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04741955202727936194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10214458.post-29666448589361617042013-04-29T06:05:23.674-07:002013-04-29T06:05:23.674-07:00A very thought-provoking post! There are so many pressures we feel we have to conform to, or maybe we're lazy, or just don't have enough commitment or confidence.

Now I'd better go and check which side of MY boat I'm fishing on!Jay at The Depp Effecthttp://www.thedeppeffect.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10214458.post-3694887087621704962013-04-29T05:37:56.258-07:002013-04-29T05:37:56.258-07:00Hey, Bijoux, how's it going?

They are shooting Captain America here next month and all people are doing is complaining about the shoreway being closed! Never mind the money being brought in. Nope, we just hate to be inconvenienced! It was the same way with the Avengers a few years back.

I hope you catch the big one soon, Rob!Bijouxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05788630004051883635noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10214458.post-45804505798250456592013-04-29T02:44:09.907-07:002013-04-29T02:44:09.907-07:00Hey, Ron, how are you doing?

I'm sure it does make life easier for filmmakers.

And I really appreciate your comments about change and letting creativity lead the way.

New directions can surprise us and show us something we never knew about ourselves, so, yes, your comment makes plenty of sense!

Thanks for stopping by, buddy, and do take care!

Rob Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04741955202727936194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10214458.post-15737763884005829902013-04-28T21:09:17.761-07:002013-04-28T21:09:17.761-07:00As always, Rob, the endings to your posts always g...As always, Rob, the endings to your posts always give the perfect sum up to your stories!

"They tend to pop up around the city like small villages and if you’ve lived here long enough you barely give them a second look."

Yes, that's the thing about NYC. Anytime I'm there, I will very often see filming of some kind going on. Yet, it's so funny to watch New Yorkers just treat it like it's normal. And that's probably why so many film makers love to shoot there - they don't have to deal with people standing there gawking.

And I know a bit of what you're feeling right now because I myself feel like I need a change. But I'm not really sure what I want that change to be, so I'm just trying to stay focused on being creative because creativity seems to spur my inspiration, and then leads me in the right direction.

But it's weird because sometimes the direction that I thought I wanted to go, changes to another direction, which I end up enjoying more than where I initially thought I wanted to go. God, does that make any sense?!?!?

Great post and great topic, Rob!

Have a most excellent week, buddy!

And say to NY for me!

Ronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15977027331657615697noreply@blogger.com
