Thank you so much for sharing that with me! And you're so right about that need show the universe something!

We have a need sometimes to shake our fist at the sky, but when we're all down, we're the only ones hurting. The self-awareness here is great. When you're this honest with yourself and you're able to analyze your own behaviors, the reflection that follows can't help but be good. And I've had moments like that, too. It's like I want to freak out to somehow show the universe how intolerable these conditions are, but in general the freak-outs just tend, like you said, to make everything worse. (Locked out of the car with the engine running sounds particularly horrible!)

This nonsense that I subjected myself to was a kind of hysterical blindness. I let the panic take over so I think emotional vigilance will be the key for me!

Take care, buddy! Not only would I misplace my apartment and car keys constantly, but I would also lock myself out of my apartment and car (and sometimes with the car still running). I finally got to the point where I figured a way to place my key ring in the exact same spot in my apartment so that I would always know where they were. I placed a hook on the inside of my apartment, right next to the front door so that I could hook them there whenever entered my apartment, and so that I could also have them there whenever I exited.

And even though I no longer have car keys, only apartment and mailbox keys, I still place them on a hook inside my current apartment.

Have a grrrreat week, buddy!
Ronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17332843200079013172noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10214458.post-70303302929072789342018-05-07T12:17:12.279-07:002018-05-07T12:17:12.279-07:00Hey, Jay!

We can do some pretty terrible things to ourselves if we're not careful.

The mental steps sounds like a great way to avoid becoming a mental case!

Take care and good luck with the shed key!

Rob Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04741955202727936194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10214458.post-28859237801787581122018-05-07T08:59:19.043-07:002018-05-07T08:59:19.043-07:00You have bad key juju!
Seriously, though, it...You have bad key juju!

Seriously, though, it's amazing what stress will do to you. I don't think you need worry to much about anything else, it's quite clear that you live your life in the fast lane, stress-wise. Next time, put your keys back in your pocket. lean your forehead against the door, take a deep breath and let it out slowly, then another one, then - being deliberately slow and mindful - try the keys again. Works for me!

I used to flip out when things went wrong. I'm still quite capable of doing so, but I have learned that taking that mental step away from the problem can work wonders.

You should have seen me with the shed key the other day. :DJayhttp://www.sparkingsynapse.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10214458.post-54260912805557842332018-05-07T05:51:47.070-07:002018-05-07T05:51:47.070-07:00Oh, thanks, Bijoux, so it's not just me!!Oh, thanks, Bijoux, so it's not just me!!Rob Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04741955202727936194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10214458.post-19738909849242456622018-05-07T03:58:49.015-07:002018-05-07T03:58:49.015-07:00I've had trouble with keys, even when they are...I've had trouble with keys, even when they are distinctly labeled or look like no other.
